Saco Heath Preserve and Portland's Waterfront

Went to Saco Heath Preserve today with a friend, and then before heading home I went to Portland's waterfront to get some sunset pictures. I didn't stay long enough to get the sunset, but I did get a few lovely pictures nonetheless.

Saco Heath Preserve - Some of these may be repeats just with different camera settings.

Here is an interesting old store/gas station that was on the way to the preserve. We stopped to check it out on our way back..

And lastly

I went back to Monument Square to see what was going on. Just test runs but I caught a few pictures. I didn't have the right lens and couldn't find a good spot, so this will be short. I didn't stay for the event, but hey, some things are more important..like..dinner.

Portland's "Downtown Showdown".

Happy Valentine's Day

And now for a real post. It was cold, it was windy, the ice I was looking to take pictures of was mostly melted. :( But I made it out to take some pictures today, finally. It was a long time coming, but it's extremely hard in the winter when the only time I can take pictures, is generally on the weekends. Now that the light is making it's long-awaited comeback, I may have more and more time after work to actually get back into this. So. I walked along the Back Cove Trail today, and here are the results.

Oh wait, before making it that far, I walked Congress St. briefly to see what was going on at monument square..nothing yet, but I did spot another Oprah! So I think that makes 3 so far.

Now most of these will look very similar since I'm posting quite a few and well..the back cove is the back cove. You can only get so many pictures of snow and ice and water.

I'll start with my arrival.

That's all for now. Should have more time to mess around with my camera soon..unfortunately mud season isn't generally that pretty! I'll try to think of something..maybe it'll snow again (yes I'm one of the few that wouldn't mind one last snow storm).

Korean Cigarettes

Yes this is a very strange and random addition to my photo blog. Someone asked me if I wanted a pack of Korean cigarettes and I (being interested in most anything foreign) accepted. These are the strangest things to attempt to smoke..me and two friends, both of them don't even smoke, decided to attempt to smoke these little "toothpicks". My final thoughts are, I love the box, it's very nicely packaged. Smoking these things is like smoking air. PERFECT for those trying to quit, and realizing they're wasting their time trying to smoke..

NOTE: After smoking a few here and there I've actually decided they aren't half bad. In fact..I'd prefer to smoke these than normal cigarettes, they HAVE to be healthier since you don't suck in as much crap.
