On Monday, August 21st, I went to Western Cemetery on the West End of Portland, ME. It was a nice little cemetery, but compared to some of the other area cemetery's, it wasn't too impressive.

The week in photo's - Monday
Last week, since the weather looked promising, I decided to take pictures every day of the week. I also decided to go to places I had never been before. It was a little difficult to find places I hadn't already been, but I had a few places I'd been meaning to check out for awhile, so it worked out nicely. Here is the photo log of last week.

The week in photo's - Tuesday
Tuesday, August 22nd, I went to Gilsland Farm Sanctuary in Falmouth, ME. I'm glad I finally made it here! I didn't realize how close to Portland it was, and how very easy it is to find. There are many trails, and they don't seem to be overly used. I ran into some people, but overall it was a pretty quiet and peaceful atmosphere. There were a few nice places to sit, relax and enjoy nature. I was also happy to see that it's open year round.
This was taken in Portland, ME a little later that night.

The week in photo's - Wednesday
Wednesday, August 23rd, I hiked the Stroudwater Trail in Portland, ME. It took me awhile to find it, but it was worth it. I don't know if it was the time of the season, or that it's just so hard to find, but I was the only one on the trail. It was a great little hike, that took me around a complex, then by a little stream, and even under I-95 I believe. I was surprised and happy to find a little factory of some sort to take pictures of as well. I neared the end of the trail and it was starting to get dark, so I turned back. I didn't realize exactly how close to the end I had come until I looked at the trail map in my car.

The week in photo's - Thursday
Thursday, August 24th, I went to Deering Oaks Park in Portland, ME. I've of course been here, but I hadn't really gone specifically to take pictures, so it was almost a new place for me.

The week in photo's - Friday
Friday, August 25th, I went to Scarborough Beach & Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough, ME. Again, not sure if it's the time of year (seems odd, it being the summer still), but there weren't many people there at all. It could've been the time of day as well since it was after I was done working and must've been some time after 6pm. The cemetery wasn't anything to get excited about, but then again, it's a cemetery. Who gets excited about cemetery's? Ok..I admit it, I enjoy them for some odd reason. Not sure if I get excited per se, but, well there you are.

The week in photo's - Saturday
Saturday, August 26th, I went to Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, ME. I had been told about this "mountain" a few times when mentioning that I'd like to shoot new places. I don't quite understand the big deal though. Coming from the White Mountains of New Hampshire originally, walking less than a mile to get to the summit was rather strange and unfullfilling. I don't think I even built up a sweat..no..actually I didn't. It was a great place to take a family, due to it's .3 mile incline to the summit. Very short hike, and a decent view. Nothing to drive from Portland to see though. I'm glad I went anyway, or else it'd be this place on my list that I'd always need to see. The trails were mighty confusing and I think I must've hopped trails a few times. Well I could go on about my disappointment, but really it wasn't too bad. Here are some pictures.
