Did a photo run with a friend today. We started on the East End, headed over to Deering Oaks, and then crossed the bridge to end up under it. I was pretty impressed with the space down there!
So first the East End. Where I spotted two Oprah's I hadn't seen.
Other than that, it was cold, windy, and the lighting was all wrong. We headed to Deering Oaks after making a quick stop in a little park on the East End which overlooks the city. The lighting wasn't that wonderful, so I won't share any pictures from that.
I wasn't sure which I liked more.
And some bridges.
Under the bridge.
And then the sun set, so we couldn't play anymore. It was cold anyway.
I was on the way to the store for somebody when I noticed how pretty everything looked and decided to take pictures instead. I was in a hurry so I unfortunately didn't take many, but here are some. The first one was taken near my house, I just wanted to capture the frozen grass.
Portland Headlight and the coast. I missed getting the shot I wanted because my camera zoomed in too much. I've just ordered a wide angle lens to help possibly remedy the situation. I'll have to go back and try again.
We followed the trail away from the big fort and Portland Headlight, and found that there was a mini fort where I hadn't known one existed. I took a few pictures of that.
Made a quick stop to take a picture of Spring Point.
And then headed to Bug Light to take a few more pictures.
These were taken during the early afternoon, so the lighting wasn't entirely flattering. You work with what you've got though. I went out to Prouts Neck for the first time, and revisited Fort Williams.
